Amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life and endless streams of news about conflicts and crises around the world, there are moments that remind us that there is still hope.
One such moment occurred in the winter of 2023, when our Cartago team came together to help the orphans in Turkey.
The year 2023 began tragically with a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that claimed the lives of over 56,000 people. Among the victims were numerous children who had lost not only their parents, but often also their siblings and relatives.
Their fate touched us deeply and did not leave us untouched. We decided to take action. Together, we collected around €800 to help those who had lost everything. This donation was not just financial support, but a sign of solidarity and compassion from our community.
On December 12, we handed over the check to the Munich Airport Association, who had agreed to deliver our donation safely and directly to Turkey.
Their initiative and support were crucial in ensuring that our aid reached those who needed it most.
The impact of our donation became clear in April 2024 through a moving video that showed us 733 beaming children joyfully playing with their new dolls, cars and other toys.
The words “Car-ta-goo” echoed through the air – an expression of gratitude and joy from these children who were able to feel hope and happiness despite their difficult circumstances.
Our team deserves special thanks for their commitment and initiative. It was their efforts that made this positive change possible. Together, we have ignited a spark of humanity that makes the lives of these children a little bit better.
